The beginning of fall and a goal is reached

Since my last post I have really started to like the cooler weather that has come our way. The rains have been welcomed at least by me and I know Lake Travis is appreciative. Two weeks ago I got to work the weekend down in Corpus Christi...bummer to work the weekend, but I can't complain too much because working a baby expo booth for Similac and getting 2 extra comp days is not too shabby! Mmmmmmm...trying to decide when to use those days off, probably around the holidays I am guessing. The evening I drove back to Austin my darling husband surprised me with his new toy (which I pretty much knew he would be getting at some point). He had successfully completed his 3 part plan... 1. Sell the boat, 2. Sell the jeep and then 3. Buy an old muscle car. So what we got is a 1966 Mustang and it is pretty sweet I must say. Dustin and I decided to splurge that following week and go enjoy Hudson's on the Bend...okay okay actually it was not quite a splurge since it was "Restaurant Week", but I must say it was delicious. We had a great meal and we both enjoyed wine pairings...the only way to truly enjoy your meal-in my opinion
:-)
So the weekend following Dustin's parents came into town and we celebrated Ari's birthday and enjoyed some low key family time. Got to go to the movies and out to eat at Steiner Steakhouse which as always was tasty. On Sunday we got to show off our new "toy" to some people that really appreciate it...we took Dustin's parents to 2 different antique car shows. I am really trying to catch on to the old car thing and nowadays when I see a cool looking old car I try to see what kind it is so that hopefully one day I can shock Dustin and say "wow look at that '69 Chevelle" and it not really be a 1987 Monte Carlo...heee heee.

Our '66 Mustang

Anyway, the start to October was a blast...we welcomed in the first weekend of October by spending it in the mudfest which is AKA ACL 2009! The weekend was exhausting but overall a grand old time with great friends and lots of music. Dave Matthews was of course as expected the highlight for both Dustin and me....I just will never get tired of DMB and that is a fact. Got to see some other great bands as well...John Legend, Kings of Leon, Ben Harper, Pearl Jam, Citizen Cope, The Toadies, The Zac Brown Band, etc. They had great food and you can't beat getting to buy a bottle of wine that is put into a squirt bottle for you!!! This week though I am seriously dragging and I am not doing too well on the whole working out thing...will get back to business tomorrow though. On the topic of working out I do have some great news...a couple weeks ago I finally decided to go ahead and check off one of my "New Years resolutions" and I completed my nonstop run of 10.17 miles. I was really proud of myself and surprisingly was not that sore afterward...my guess is that was a result of my running pretty consistently, doing between 3-4 miles most days of the week. As I write this I hope that whoever is reading this if you have goals to go after just go for them!
Happy October and enjoy the Fall!
