25 or so random things about me...

On Facebook there has been this thing going around where you write out 25 random things about yourself that others may or may not know about you. I finally caved and did one myself and posted it on my Facebook account. Since some people who read my blog don't have Facebook accounts I thought I would post them here too...

Enjoy!

1. When I was in elementary school we got to buy these large pickles in French class. I hated pickles so much I told everyone that I was severely allergic to them so that nobody would eat them around me. I like them now.

2. I randomly gross people out sometimes by doing one of my weird talents- I can stick my tongue up my nose.

3. I was born “full breech” which means that I came out bottom first with my legs wrapped around my neck- my parents put me in gymnastics as soon as possible.

4. I was breastfed until I was 2 years old and ironically now I am a sales rep for an infant formula company

5. I am very passionate about people breastfeeding their babies, but understand it doesn’t always work for everyone- hence why I am okay with #4- if you are going to feed them formula might as well give them the best one.

6. I knew that I wanted to be a dietitian when I was in high school.

7. Dustin (my husband) and I met on a blind date.

8. I am torn between wanting the traditional life of a suburban housewife/mother and wanting to sell everything and live abroad traveling the world with my husband.

9. After Dustin’s dog Shadow passed away in 2005 I began having panic attacks- experiencing a full blown panic attack is something I would never wish upon my worse enemy.

10. I remember exactly where I was when I found my first gray hair.

11. My ideal day would be to sleep in, wake up to a soy latte from Starbucks, get a massage, then spend the rest of the day out on our boat on the lake with friends drinking, laughing and getting sun while floating around…

12. I want to get married to Dustin all over again…and again.

13. My sweet grandparents celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary a couple months before they passed away. After my grandpa passed, my gramma lived just 5 days without him. My hope is that Dustin and I can be that blessed in our life together.

14. I wish all my friends/family lived in Austin so I could see them more.

15. Although it can be annoying at times (like when I want to eat things like French fries), I love knowing what I know as a dietitian when it comes to food.

16. I have recently become a huge fan of recycling. My family laughs when I gather the cans and bottles from their hotel when they are in town so that I can take them home to my recycling bin.

17. Even though I complain (just like most people do) I really love my job!

18. Dustin proposed to me on top of a waterfall in Maui- it was the best surprise of my life

19. I used to have an addiction to carrots- my feet literally were orange colored from all the beta-carotene

20. I love chocolate…I would say most days of the week I have at least something chocolaty

21. One of our dogs, Vegas, got his name because Las Vegas was the first place Dustin and I went to for a vacation and where he told me he loved me for the first time.

22. I would love and hate (at the same time) to cut my hair short, but knowing me I probably will be 80 years old and still have long hair.

23. I try to talk to my mom and my sister everyday on the phone- when I don’t my day usually seems incomplete.

24. I was scared of and disliked my 3rd grade teacher so much that every morning on the way to school I would get sick and throw up. I still despise her for ruining my 3rd grade memories.

25. When I was a competing gymnast instead of watching shows on TV at night like “The Fresh Prince” or “Doogie Howser” I was at the gym from 4 PM to 8:30 PM most days of the week. When friends talk about those shows I never know what they are talking about.

And one more to grow on…

26. Backpacking through Europe and studying abroad in Spain are two of the most liberating experiences I have had. I wish everyone could have that.
