EUROPE HERE WE COME!!!

So since my last post an unexpected vacation was planned! Dustin and I have been trying to figure out where to go this year for vacation and just could not make up our minds. The flights have been decent to most places and so we were deciding between Europe and going back to Hawaii (as mentioned in our 2009 Resolutions/Goals Blog). We had kind of given up on Europe until Dustin booked us our trip last Tuesday night leaving from Houston to Paris round trip for a steal...$400 per person! It is such an exciting trip to look forward to..Dustin has never been to Europe and we will get to celebrate my 29th birthday over there! We plan to "train/backpack it" around (the only way to do it in my opinion)...and hit places such as Paris, Florence (Tuscany), Venice, Interlaken, Switzerland just to name the ones we have for sure decided upon. More info on this to come...and I am certain many blog entries as well :-)

So in other news...last Wednesday was our monthly Bunko night and even though Bunko is always a good time, this month I was looking forward to it more than usual. The reason being, Amy, who was hosting this month used her creative skills...leave it to a teacher to have those ;-) and she planned for a themed Bunko. We had Pajama Bunko night...based on the idea that this is the month of Valetine's and there is a pretty high chance that at least most of us would not receive "Breakfast in Bed". Soooo we had breakfast together and in our jammies! It was so fun and what made it even better was the fact that I ended with the most bunkos and so I won the $40 that night!!! My favorite thing also was that Denise went all out and even wore rollers in her hair. Love ya girl :-)

Pajama Bunko Night!

So last weekend was jam packed with good times...Friday evening Dustin's parents arrived from Houston and we got to spend the evening with them playing games. I really liked the new Yahtzee game we played even though Nick beat me. On Saturday Dustin and I enjoyed a very romantic Valentines morning together (Thanks to my wonderful Mom & Dad) by both of us getting massages. Because it was Valentines, the spa also treated us to a champagne toast, chocolate truffles and a bottle of vino to take home with us and enjoy later. After that we got ready for the day and went for lunch at Fion Bistro in our neighborhood (literally we walked there). The rest of the day we hung out with Dustin's family. Nick and Jessica hit the sack early since they ran the Austin marathon on Sunday morning. They both did awesome and Dustin was such a great brother and rode his bicycle all along the course with them snapping photos and taking videos. Our good friend Alvin also did great too. Everyone set personal records! It definitely made me want to continue training for what would be my second ever marathon. As of right now I have started my 4th week into the 26 week training schedule. The training is supposedly for the San Fran marathon that is July 26th. Everyone thinks I am crazy training for a marathon that is at the end of July. Not that it would be super hot in San Fran, but the running here in Texas then will be brutal. The thing is, before Dustin and I got married, I was running up until the wedding day which was July 29th (no, I was not doing long runs like I would be in this case but still I was outside in the heat running). I think I will just continue as I am doing and just play it by ear. If anything I will just train and just not run that race and then maybe plan for the December marathon in Dallas with Dustin. We will see! Anyway, back to the weekend. On Sunday, Dustin went with me to meet up with my old boss, Rachelle, who I absolutely adore (I mean she did get me hired for my dream job). Her husband joined us as well as Kori, Sommer, and Sommer's husband. We all ate at the Oasis and had some good laughs. Rachelle and her husband Ralph are finally closing on their house in San Antonio. They have been living up in Minnesota for what seems like forever waiting for their house to sell here in Texas before buying one up there. I am happy for them, but not a day goes by that I don't wish she was still our manager. Well, looking forward to next weekend of course. I get to see Alison when she is in town for her nephew's birthday party. I can't wait to see her!
