Running ain't HALF bad....

So with all the family members I have runnng the Austin marathon on Valentines Day this year it kind of has made me feel a little left out ;-)
I mean I like to run and when the weather is decent I typically do run 3-4 times per week somewhere between 3-5 miles. Nothing too great, but I enjoy it. Back a few months ago I did complete a 10 miler (as I had wanted to do in 2009), but I really don't push myself all that often.
My husband has been great this time around and he has properly trained for his upcoming 6th Marathon...yes 6th! I am very proud of him, because in the past he always procrastinated his training, but I know that this year he is going to blow his previous times out of the water!
So back to the issue at hand...I completed a marathon back in 2005 and it was an incredible experience! I have yet to do another and at this time I am not sure I am up for it. However, this week I decided that I want to do a half marathon (asap). Now that the weather is getting somewhat nicer, I started a 10-week training program yesterday. I am not going to do an "organized" run since there is not one I am interested in doing near that time frame. I will just do it on my own and have Dustin as my support :-)
I am using the training program provided by Marathonrookie.

Here is a quote from the training schedule that I really liked...

"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."
- George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

Happy Running!

I'm sure many of us can provide you a "supported" run since your doing it on your own
