Besides the running news, I have been on a few work trips since my last post...San Diego, Houston and Columbus. Work is fun and I am so lucky to have such a great job! My mom came to visit in February as well for a long weekend and we ended up doing what we do best...shopping, pampering ourselves with mani/pedi's, spending too much $$$ and of course drinking too much red wine :-) I loved it!!!
Dustin turned the big 3-0 last month...okay so technically he didn't have a birthday again but ya know we celebrated it anyway. I was really excited about the gifts I got him this year as I had actually put in a lot of time and effort. I had one of those really professional looking photo albums from www.Snapfish.com made with pictures from all of our travel adventures from 2009. I also sent out for a t-shirt quilt to be made using a bunch of his old running/cycling t-shirts. If you ever consider doing it, I recommend www.tshirtquilt.com It turned out perfect!
March has flown by...I can't believe it is almost April already. Last week I got to spend an evening hanging out with my cousin Scott who was in Austin on spring break and we caught a little bit of the SXSW free shows downtown.
As many of you know Dustin has long had the desire to cycle across the USA. So last week we attended a presentation by the couple from the blog http://pathlesspedaled.com/
They are a unique couple who basically decided to sell all of their possessions, leave the corporate world behind and travel the USA on their bicycles...they began last July and made it to Austin just recently. We got to meet them and hear their story, etc. It is amazing to me that they are doing this since it is totally unconventional. I admire their bravery and also their passion for the sport of bicycle touring. I can only imagine what it would be like to live so freely. Thankfully they both have talent that earns them money on the road as well as they have become pretty popular in the blog world making friends along the way that want to support their journey. Check them out if you have a chance!
Other exciting events...we attended Brenda and Michael's Wedding reception last weekend. I must say I am counting down the days until our vacation to Kauai! Dustin and I finally nailed down some dates and booked our trip. VERY much looking forward to heading back to the Hawaiian islands. I can't believe it has been 5 years this coming summer since we went to Maui and Dustin proposed to me! Time sure is flying by...I am still denying that I will be turning 30 in less than 2 months, yikes!
Well, thanks for catching up with me!
