LiveSTRONG Challenge Weekend

This morning the alarm went off at 5:45 AM..YUCK! But it was okay cause I got up for a good cause. Thanks to Dustin and Dell contributing donation $ I participated in the 5K LiveSTRONG Challenge run downtown beginning at 7:30 AM. I was a bit curious how I would do considering I have not gone running in a few weeks...well now that I have been focusing on Bikram so much. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that I ended up running the whole way and I ran across the finish line in 32 minutes 30 seconds. There were 3,000+ runners/walkers there and I was smiling so big when I saw who was speaking to all of us prior to the start of the run. I will give you a hint...a Sex and the City star...who was the father of "Elizabeth Taylor"...Okay it was Evan Handler AKA "Harry"!!! He is a 23 year cancer survivor!

Tomorrow Dustin will cycle in the LiveSTRONG Challenge 90 mile bicycle ride which starts out in the beautiful hill country of Dripping Springs.

Today I ran in memory of my sweet dad's two brothers, my Uncle Lew and my Uncle Dan. Hopefully one day there will be no cancer!
