When I was in elementary school I will never forget when I finally turned 10 years old and my mom planned the classroom birthday party at school and decorated the room with signs that said "Emily Sue is 10 on the 10th"...I always thought it was cool that everyone would be able to at some point celebrate that sort of birthday. For example, I am super excited for my niece Lynzi who one day will turn 21 on the 21st :-) I am sure that will be a good night! It is weird to think I will be pushing 40 by then!
So sadly Dustin was supposed to have his 29th birthday on the 29th this year, but because he is a leap year baby, that did not happen. So we celebrated anyway beginning with a fun dinner out with friends on Friday. We went to this sushi restaurant called Korea Garden that has something called a Sushi train. Basically you sit in your seat and plates of sushi go by you on a conveyor belt and you pick what looks good to you. The plate color determines the price of the plate. It was a great time and they even came out and sang to Dustin and brought him some special birthday sushi to enjoy. After dinner we headed downtown to Cedar Street to meet up with Andrea (who also had a birthday) and some other friends and we saw LC Rocks (an 80's Rock cover band). It was a good night!

So, if I forgot to mention-For his birthday present Dustin purchased a jeep wrangler. It is something along the lines of a dream of Dustin's to at some point in his life own a jeep. So he got one and I must say I am really enjoying it!! The day Dustin brought it home (last Wednesday) we took it down to the back of Steiner Ranch and found some roads to take it "off roading" on. I was a bit scared at first, but Dustin knew what he was doing. So, on Saturday Dustin and I were a bit bummed because he had planned his "redneck" day of birthday fun but it was super windy and things got a bit changed up. We ended up taking the jeep out anyway (and freezing) and found a new neighborhood off 2222 that has a large area cleared out with random piles of dirt and rocks that we climbed on/over in the jeep. It was fun! That evening we went over to Nick and Jessica's and Jessica was nice to make dinner for us and we continued the birthday celebrating. This morning Dustin and I went out to brunch and then finally got to do the other activity Dustin he wanted to do on Saturday which was to go out and shoot guns :-) We ended up trying out a new place which actually had an inside shooting range. If we had known how much we were going to like it there we could have actually gone on Saturday and not worried about the wind issue. After the gun shooting we went on a run and then I got ready and headed out of town to Houston. I am now sitting in my hotel room near the Houston Galleria eating room service. :-) I am attending a Neonatal Nutrition Conference through Wednesday. So far the lectures tonight have been really good.
Off roading in the new jeep

I am pretty good actually- I got a bull's eye!
