NICU Specialist Certification in Columbus…

So this week I was chosen along with 11 other reps from my region to attend NICU Specialist sales training in Columbus. I must say it was a really awesome training. Our company had numerous speakers for us to learn from, including Neonatal RD’s, NNP’s and a Neonatologist who all related to us important information regarding the NICU work place. They covered numerous studies on NICU products (mostly our own of course), overall NICU statistics, and we also learned all about the nutritional needs (and how to calculate them) of the neonate. It was awesome…and for about 2 seconds I thought perhaps I should consider going back to school so that I could work in the NICU maybe as a NNP or Neo- but then I realized I would be like 80 years old by the time my schooling was finished! Plus I really love my job and would not want to leave it behind! We arrived on Sunday and we finished on Wednesday afternoon. Kori and I thought we would try and catch an earlier flight so we left the final meeting a bit early and jumped in a cab only to get to the airport in time to have the Southwest Airlines people tell us that it would cost us each $175 to change to the earlier flight. I mean what happened to Southwest being cool about switching your flights…oh well, so we were at the airport by noon and our flight to Austin did not take off until 5:15 PM…Fun stuff! We watched our friends all take off on their earlier flights, which was the most depressing part of all.

So I got home last night around 9 PM, unpacked, did a load of laundry, ate some dinner, and then repacked my suitcase. I was exhausted and I was sad that I only got to spend a few short hours hanging out with my hubby and dogs. It was not long enough, but I keep reminding myself that I get to be in Las Vegas with my brother to see The Ellen Degeneres Show! Woo Hoo! So stay tuned…Las Vegas updates to follow!
